Rockhampton man struggles to wrap his head around $2 million Gold Lotto win
A Rockhampton man in his 30s admits he’s still struggling to believe his $2 million Saturday Gold Lotto prize from the weekend’s draw is real.
The Central Queenslander held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4291 on Saturday 3 September 2022. Each division one winning entry scored $2 million.
So far this year, five division one wins have landed in Central Queensland worth more than $30.6 million in prize money.
When we contacted the winner yesterday, he was oblivious to his good fortune.
“Are you for real? No!” he exclaimed.
“I feel like you’re pulling my leg.
“Mate, I don’t believe this.
“I don’t know whether to thank you or find you for giving me a heart attack.
“It’s a bolt out of the blue.
“This is bloody good news, but it won’t sink in for a while.
“It’s awesome. I’ll be able to do some renos around the home, that’s for sure.
“Other than that, I just don’t know right now. Mate, I’m out to it! I don’t know what to think.”
The man’s winning marked 4-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
